National Parks

A vast part of the territory is set aside as Natioal Park, Game Reserve or Game Controlled Area. some of the world's most famous national parks, like the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, are to be found here.

Political system

The country was ruled by its first president Julius Nyerere and his CCM party in a one-party system for a long time. In the early nineties, a multi-party system with free elections was introduced. Since then, the ruling CCM party managed to win every election significantly.
