Transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater for safari with picnic lunch
on the crater floor. In the late afternoon transfer back to Arusha.
Although one of the smaller Tanzanian parks in the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara NP
is an interesting place to visit. During the months of July through April, the lake
waters are tinged pink from the hundreds of flamingos who feed there. Other features
of the park include its stable heards of elephants and buffalos, enormous troops of
baboons and its famous tree-climbing lions.
The famous Serengeti encompasses nearly 15,000 sq.km and is unrivaled anywhere
for its seasonally shifting concentrations of herbivores. Nearly 1.5 million
wildebeest, 500,000 gazelle and 250,000 zebra complete a cyclical the ecosystem,
followed by large predators. Robanda is located just outside Ikoma gate, Serengeti. This area is right on the
path of the wildebeest migration, but has a high animal concentration year round. One
will find many girafes here, as well as big herds of elephants.
The unique Ngorongoro phenomenon must be seen to be believed. The crater, a
collapsed volcanic caldera, covers 250 sq.km and is 611m deep. Large numbers of
carnivores, herbivores, primates and birds are seen year round. It also boasts one of
the last viable populations of the nearly extinct black rhinoceros and the highest
density of lions and spotted hyena's.

Stying in Robanda is only possible on a "lodge/tented camp safari". If you opt for
budget camping, you'll camp on a campsite in the wild inside Serengeti.
Instead of staying in Robanda area, you might prefer to go on safari inside the
Serengeti national park on day 3, in which case you'll pay a 50 USD pp entry fees
at the gate. You'll probably find more animals in Robanda area then in actual
Serengeti though.
